Frequently Asked Questions
If you have questions about dental implants, we have answers! You’ll find most of your questions addressed here. If you have one we haven’t answered, give us a call at (312) 529-8850.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that function just like your natural ones. The implants fuse with your jawbone, giving your replacement teeth a solid foundation. This enables you to bite and chew normally again. We offer implants for single crowns, bridges, dentures, and All-on-4® restorations.
What does All-on-4® mean?
In an All-on-4® procedure, we place four implants in your jaw and attach an arch of teeth to them. You’ll have the solid support of dental implants for your replacement teeth but in less time than other full-mouth implant treatments. Your healing process is quicker since we place fewer implants. We can use it to place teeth in your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both jaws.
Does getting implants hurt?
With our combination of experience, technology, local anesthesia, and dental sedation if necessary, you’ll be completely comfortable. After the procedure, it will take time for your implants to heal. However, in no time, you’ll have your smile back to normal.
When should I get dental implants?
Whether you have one or more missing teeth, implants will make your new teeth more secure. You’ll also have better jawbone health and improved oral health. Plus, you won’t have to limit what you eat, because your biting power will be restored.
How long do dental implants last?
With proper oral care, your implants should last a lifetime! That’s because they are made of medical-grade titanium, a durable material readily accepted by your body. However, your restorations may need to be replaced at some point.
